One of our favorite things to do is hike up Schoodic Mountain. The summit is bare and flat with 360 degree views, including dramatic views over Frenchman Bay and Mount Desert Island. At the end of the hike, the clear cool water of Schoodic Beach beckons you in. 

 

For bikers, the Downeast Sunrise Trail goes through this area with some side spurs to Schoodic Beach. A bike ride through the Schoodic Bog is a unique pleasure, especially when the bog flowers are in bloom with the mountain looming above.

 

A favorite spot for swimmers and kayakers is Spring Lake.
